St. John the Baptist Society
The St. John the Baptist Society was born out of a private devotion to St. John by John Sparta in the year 1910. The Society was officially incorporated on February 18, 1932, and was established for the following reasons.:
- Demonstration of public devotion to St. John the Baptist through perceptualizing a celebration in his honor centering around June 24th of each year.
- Promote and foster the religious themes of the Society.
- Promote, foster and contribute towards brotherhood, fellowship and harmony with fellow members as well as the entire community.
- Develop productive and effective Society goals, efforts and fundraising programs to maintain the tradition upon which the Society was founded.
- Mission Statement:
It is the mission of the St. John the Baptist Society to spread the Word of the Lord, bring lost souls back to God, strengthen the resolve of the faithful, and help the needy of God’s community. We pledge our labor, our spirituality, and our monetary support to our Church and our community.
